Two weeks into the collective exhibition Without Limit: St Francis 800 at Il-Ħaġar | Heart of Gozo Museum, curator Joseph Calleja will lead an exhibition walkthrough during which he will discuss several aspects of this exceptional temporary display commemorating the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi. This guided tour will take place on Saturday 10 October at 11:00. Participation is, of course, free, but pre-registration is encouraged by sending an email to events@heartofgozo.org.mt.
The 60 works of art depicting the beloved Saint of Assisi include those by artists such as Annibale Carracci (1560-1609), Pietro Paolo Zahra (1685-1747), Ġanni Vella (1885-1977), Agostino Camilleri (1885-1979), Franco Caprioli (1912-1974), Anton Inglott (1915-1945), Willie Apap (1918-1970), Harry Alden (1929-2019), Antoine Camilleri (1922-2005), Ġanni Bonnici (1932-2019), and Anton Agius (1933-2008), together with a long list of living artists from Gozo, Malta and beyond. A few copies of the exhibition catalogue, number 40 in Il-Ħaġar Gems series, are available at the front desk while stocks last.
The exhibition is supported by Visit Malta, Klabb Kotba Maltin, CVC Media and a number of public, ecclesiastical and private institutions.
