Can Professionalism and Volunteering in Cultural Heritage Management Coesist?
September 30, 2024 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Are volunteering and professionalism mutually exclusive? Definitely not, and sometimes, as your contribution clearly demonstrates, volunteering achieves results that exceed those obtained in fully-paid setups. Yet, training and development remain crucial aspects for the continued development of all cultural management realities.
This is the reasoning behind the participation of Il-Ħaġar Museum and Fondazzjoni Belt Victoria in the Erasmus+ project AdeleRS. The project developed an e-learning and smart working environment within the context of a virtual workshop and library supported by a wide expert community. The project partnership also developed and piloted two distinct post-graduate curricula focussed on project management and communication in the field of 𝐴𝑑𝑣𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑑 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝐶𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑙 𝐻𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑔𝑒.
As the project is nearing its conclusion, we would like to share with you its achievements and host a discussion on the need of training and continued development encountered by those who offer voluntary service in the cultural heritage management sector. This event will be held on Monday, 30 September 2024, 1830h at Il-Hagar museum and cultural centre. We would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge your services to the community and therefore we are very happy to invite you and your guest to a reception after the event where we will be able to further our discussion informally.
Please RSVP by sending an email to events@heartofgozo.org.mt.
