Inħobbok: Cards et al

To mark Valentine’s Day within the Gozo Ministry’s Inħobbok initiative, the Gozo Philatelic Society (GPS) is showcasing an assortment of Lovers’ and Valentine cards – some going back to the beginning of the twentieth century – in its display on Level -1 of Il-Ħaġar Museum. The GPS uses this space to hold periodic displays of stamps that vary according to the season or the themes of major exhibitions held at the same museum.
The Gozo Philatelic Society was founded on 3 September 1999 for the ‘promotion of the hobby’, the ‘provision of a point of reference’, and ‘co-ordination’. It is a non-governmental organisation enrolled with the Commissioner for the Voluntary Sector (VO/0546). The Society also publishes a quarterly full-colour newsletter, which is sent free to all members, and organises lectures by professionals in the field. The Gozo Philatelic Society issues commemorative cards whenever MaltaPost releases a Gozo-related postage stamp and/or a special commemorative handstamp.
The display can be visited during Il-Ħaġar Museum’s opening hours of 09:00 to 17:00, seven days a week (including public holidays).
