Public Talk and Book Launch by Retired US Army Officer

In another public talk at Il-Ħaġar Museum this Saturday 2 May 2026 at 11:00, retired US Army officer Andy Young, who served for 34 years, will explore the human core of Tide of War, focusing on how ordinary people respond when their lives are overturned by extraordinary events. Rather than examining military tactics or historical detail, the presentation considers themes of loss, moral uncertainty, and the fragile assumptions we hold about the world. The story places its characters in situations where values collide and no single “right” answer exists. Through fiction, the talk examines how stories can help readers reflect on what truly matters when certainty disappears.

Andy Young holds an MBA from Northwestern University and has lectured on the Law of Armed Conflict in Belfast, Northern Ireland. His writing is driven by a deep respect for the servicemen and women of the United States and its allies and seeks to honour both them and their families.

Admission to Il-Ħaġar Museum is, as always, free, but seat reservations are encouraged by sending an email to events@heartofgozo.org.mt.
