TRANSITIONS

Meet the Artist Norbert Francis Attard

On Saturday 10^th May at 11.30am, artist Norbert Francis Attard will give a guided tour of his current temporary exhibition at Il-Ħaġar Museum, titled Transitions. During the guided tour, Attard will discuss how his works were created during key transitional phases in his artistic career. Living and working between Malta, Gozo, Berlin, and now also Seoul, Attard continually shifts both his physical and creative life in pursuit of new or alternative ways of thinking and producing. He will explain how the exhibition highlights these crucial yet relatively unknown in-between stages, undertaken while he was transitioning from one period of artistic development to the next. Each phase reveals his experimentation with found objects and materials, forms, and themes – processes that ultimately led to the renewal of his practice. On display is a selection of works from each transitional phase spanning the years 1970 to 1999.

Participation in this guided tour is free but registration is encouraged by sending an email to events@heartofgozo.org.mt.  Transitions can be visited until the 29^th June during the museum opening hours, from 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Sunday (public holidays included). Admission is free.
