INT X’TISTENNA MILL-PARLAMENT EWROPEW SEMINAR AT THE MUSEUM

An event that will focus on “the needs of Gozo and what is expected from the European Parliament” will be held in Gozo next Friday, the 18th of October at the Il-Hagar | Heart of Gozo Museum, in St George’s Square, Victoria.

All those attending will have the possibility to choose any one of the three areas which the European Parliament event will focus on. The different areas which will be tackled during the event include:-

1. Business and Investment

2. Fisheries and Agriculture

3. Employment

For each area a number of key experts including Dr John C. Grech (Chairman EMCS Group) , Mr Joe Farrugia (Director General Malta Employers Association), Dr Von Brokdorff (Head of Department Economics, University of Malta), Dr. Spiteri Gingell (Managing Partner – Vid & Co Business Consultants Ltd) and other experts will be addressing those present and presenting information with regards to different EU initiative and the benefits these can provide to the local economy.

Following the Key Expert intervention, MEP candidates will answer a number of questions which will be asked by those present.

Following this session, all those present will be invited to attend a debate which will be moderated by the Time of Malta and which will involve a question and answer session with current MEPs.

All those attending will then be invited to a small reception, which will be attended by EU Parliament elections candidates and current MEPs.

17:30 – 18:00 Registration and welcome coffee (tours of the museum will be organised during this time)

18:00 – 18:30 Start of three events focusing on: Fisheries and Agriculture, Business and Employment

18:30 – 19:00 Open discussion together with the MEPs and speakers

19:10 – 19:45 Moderated discussion by the Times of Malta and Q&A with current MEPs

19:45 – 21:00 End of Seminar Reception.

Attendance to this event is FREE. All those attending the event will also have the opportunity to tour the museum on a guided tour for FREE during the registration process.
