Monday 10 June 2013, Victoria Day, Mayor Dr Samuel Azzopardi conferred the Ġieħ il-Belt Victoria Award to four distinguished Victoria citizens, three of whom hail from St George’s Parish: Archpriest Emeritus Mgr Joseph Farrugia,  Ex-Mayor Robert Tabone and Biblical scholar Patri Eġidju Mizzi OFMConv. We would like to congratulate all four personalities for this important award.  But a special mention is due to to Mgr Joseph Farrugia, co-founder of Fondazzjoni Belt Victoria, who together with other collaborators was instrumental towards the opening of this museum; the vision came from him, he was the coordinator in this venture and is our coordinating curator.
