Parliamentary Secretary Dr Ian Borg and Minister Dr Anton Refalo visit museum

Yesterday May 3rd, Parliamentary Secretary Dr Ian Borg accompanied by Gozo Minister Dr Anton Refalo visited the Museum. Dr Borg was last March appointed as Parliamentary Secretary for the 2017 European Presidency and European Union Funding, He is the youngest member of the Executive in the current legislature. His responsibilities include the national preparations for Malta’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2017, as well as the strengthening of the European Union funds absorption process. The distingusihed guests were taken around the museum by the curator Rev. Mgr Joseph Farrugia accompanied by Mr Antoine Vassallo, Dr Paul G. Pisani and Mr Charles Cassar. Dr Borg spoke about the Government’s committment to give all necessary support for cultural institutions in Gozo. He was all praises for the Fondazzjoni Belt Victoria‘s efforts in undertaking such a massive enterprise and said he was very impressed with the museum. Dr Refalo, on his part said that his ministry will give the Fondazzjoni Belt Victoria all support it will require since he described the museum as ‘a national monument’.
