Gozo Alive at Il-Ħaġar Museum

Il-Ħaġar Museum and Cultural Centre is taking part in the special Gozo Alive weekend through temporary exhibitions and other events, including:

  • Ferroni & Coccetta: Exploring Light
  • Gozo Alive Philatelic Covers prepared by the Gozo Philatelic Society
  • Ave Verum Corpus – crucifixes
  • Expectant and Mishap multimedia exhibition by Stephania Grima and Giuseppe Attard.

On Saturday 4 May, the cultural centre will remain open till midnight with numerous guided tours. These also cover the interesting permanent exhibits, including coins, religious artefacts, statues, paintings, square piano, Pope Francis’s cassock as cardinal and other pontifical apparel and documents, and the Joseph Vella Music Archive.


In the morning of the 4th, there will be sessions between 10:00 and noon with Authors of Melitensia publications who will be able to discuss their work and sign copies at reduced prices. This event is being held in collaboration with Midsea Books Ltd.

At noon Taste of Gozo, featuring local delicacies, will be held on the panoramic roof-top.  Booking for this event is not essential but is recommended. 

Entrance to Il-Ħaġar – Heart of Gozo remains free of charge.
